Description
Oxfam Regional Platform Asia has approved a $4.5 million grant to support the “Strengthening Community Preparedness, Rapid Response and Recovery in Asia” program. This program aims to strengthen community preparedness, rapid response and recovery in the event of a disaster in Asian countries. The countries that are members of this program are Indonesia, the Philippines, Bangladesh and Nepal. This program starts from January 2024 to December 2026. For Indonesia, the person responsible for the program for the period January to December 2024 is Oxfam in Indonesia. Furthermore, this program will be led by the Penabulu Foundation, which is currently a potential Oxfam affiliate.
With this program transfer process, the Penabulu Foundation placed its Humanitarian Manager on secondment at Oxfam in Indonesia. This step aims to ensure that the program transfer process runs smoothly and effectively, as well as to facilitate the transfer of knowledge and skills. This secondment is also expected to strengthen cooperation between Oxfam and the Penabulu Foundation, ensure program continuity, and increase the capacity of both organizations in implementing the “Strengthening Community Preparedness, Rapid Response and Recovery in Asia” program.
Secondment of Penabulu Foundation staff to Oxfam in Indonesia is funded by Margaret A. Cargill Philanthropies through Oxfam America. This support covers the costs associated with deploying these staff, including salaries, benefits and other operational costs. With financial support from Margaret A. Cargill Philanthropies through Oxfam America, it is hoped that this secondment process can run smoothly and effectively, so that the objectives of the “Strengthening Community Preparedness, Rapid Response and Recovery in Asia” program can be achieved optimally.
