Description
Founded in 2003, Yayasan Penabulu serves as a Civil Society Resource Organization (CSRO) committed to strengthening local initiatives, promoting sustainable solutions, and amplifying the voices of Indonesian civil society. Adapting to changing times, Penabulu became a Prospective Affiliate of Oxfam International in 2023 and is now preparing to achieve Full Affiliate status. This affiliation is a strategic step that opens opportunities for Penabulu to expand its impact both locally and globally.
To celebrate the diversity of thoughts, ideas, initiatives, and local solutions, Penabulu engages various stakeholders, including representatives from central and regional governments, civil society organizations, the private sector, youth groups, academics, media, and other community groups. This series of events will culminate in the “Assembly of Thoughts”, marking the official launch of Penabulu as a Full Affiliate of Oxfam International.
One of the events leading up to the main event is Penabulu Goes to Campus: Menjadi Indonesia, in collaboration with 5 universities in Indonesia. With the theme “Generasi Penggerak: Memperjuangkan Penegakkan HAM dan Membangun Solusi Ketahanan Iklim”, this program facilitates youth as one of the key pillars of development, encouraging their participation and contribution to human rights issues, which are often intertwined with climate change challenges. Penabulu Goes to Campus will be held at Institut Pertanian Bogor, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, Universitas Brawijaya, Universitas Mataram, and Universitas Nusa Cendana
The event will include talk shows featuring speakers from civil society organizations (CSOs) and academia, discussing human rights advocacy and climate resilience solutions, with specific issues relevant to each region, such as food sovereignty, agriculture, coastal degradation, the role of Indigenous communities, and access to clean water. Facilitators will lead the discussions, coordinating participants to engage in conversations based on the theme and work together to formulate a collective youth vision statement for Indonesia. Penabulu Goes to Campus aims to introduce Penabulu – Oxfam to young people, gather ideas from the younger generation to help build Indonesia, and build support and collaboration among students
