Description
Penabulu Foundation is a non-profit foundation, dedicated to the empowerment of civil society in Indonesia. In 2002 – 2011, Penabulu was a financial management consulting agency for non-profit organisations. Then, along with the passage of time, Penabulu has expanded its capacity development service area to other aspects of organisational management, namely services for research as a basis for policy advocacy, grant management (intermediary) and being part of a disaster response network. To strengthen its presence and role in the civil society organisation scene, Penabulu is now encouraging itself to take on the role as a ‘civil society resource organisation’. As a resource organisation for civil society in Indonesia, Penabulu will do its best to mobilize, manage and distribute resources in any form to support the work of civil society in Indonesia.
In 2023 Penabulu will be celebrating its 20th anniversary, an age which is no longer young for a non-profit organization in Indonesia. In 2023 Penabulu has been involved in the process of exploring and developing Oxfam affiliation in Indonesia which will last for more than two years. Penabulu is realizing that organisations are now required to transform, from an organisation that was locally established, Penabulu must now prepare itself to be connected to Oxfam’s global network around the world. In the framework of transformative organisational change, Penabulu must immediately begin the Unfreezing phase, as the first stage of transition and one of the most critical stages in the entire process of change management. It involves improving the readiness as well as the willingness of people to change by fostering a realisation for moving from the existing comfort zone (status quo) to a transformed situation.
In this Unfreezing stage there are several key activities that need to be done including, observing and researching the environment to find some trends that will have the biggest impact on the organisation in the future, reviewing the values, principles, vision, mission, goals, and refining them into short, strong, inspiring, and passionate statements, developing operational strategies, partnership and stakeholder engagement strategies, and determining specific tactics and others.
